What language level do I need to join the course?
To begin studying for this course, you must be at least a strong C1 level (CAE Pass B / IELTS 7.5)
What if I haven't passed CAE or any other Cambridge exams before? Can I join the course?
Yes, you can take a mock exam and if you score strong C1 level you can join the course.
What if I don't want to take the CPE exam at the end?
You don't have to take the exam, you can join the course just to improve your English
What time are the live sessions?
We negotiate the most suitable time for all group participants once the group is full, classes are 1-2 per week for 60 minutes
Can I pay for the course in installments?
Yes, you can pay in 2 installments
Will you walk us through the course book page by page?
No. We use a course book for the basis of the curriculum and assign you self-study homework. Our live sessions focus on developing the skills necessary for the exam.
How many hours per week do I need to study?
We recommend allocating at least 5 hours per week for studies outside the classroom. When it gets closer to your exam date, you might want to increase this to 8-10 hours per week.

HOW THE COURSE IS STRUCTURED:
Dignostic test
You do a complete test at the beginning to see where your strengths and weaknesses are so you know what to allocate more time towards during the course.
Goal setting
We meet for a group coaching session to establish goals and define our purpose for learning. This serves as your compass for your journey.
Understanding the exam
We have weekly speaking and listening sessions which walk you through each part of the exam, step by step. Once every two weeks, you have vocabulary sessions to equip you with the most useful chunks, and writing sessions to give you a full strategy for approaching the exam tasks and formulate logical responses.
Self-study content
At the same time you are given access to our platform with a series of videos, quizzes and tasks that walk you through the exam to help you to understand the exam requirements and get more practice for each question type. You meet with your classmates for regular discussion outside of the classroom & submit your own writing tasks for feedback.
Mid-term group coaching session
We check up on our goals to see how we are progressing, work on any blockages, and reorient ourselves for the next stage of the course.
Mid-term test
We do one more mock exam to apply the skills we have learnt thus far and see how we are progressing. You get feedback on your performance.
Sharpening our skills
In the second section of the course, the live sessions focus the skills you need to achieve a high score in the exam, such as strategies for dealing with problematic partners in the speaking exam, cohesion and coherence in writing, etc. Self and group study continues here as well.
Last group coaching
Here we check in again to see how far we have progressed, what has helped us to become more proficient language learners, and how we can apply these skills in the future.
Final exam
You do one more complete mock test to see how well you would perform under exam conditions and you receive your feedback.
1:1 coaching session
You will have a 1:1 coaching session before the exam with Tyler to make sure you are in your best state and ready to rock 🚀
In total you will have:
- 13 Live sessions for speaking and listening skills development (60 minutes each)
- 6 Live Sessions for writing skill development (60 minutes each)
- 6 Live vocabulary sessions (60 minutes each)
- 30+ Videos on the platform the walk you through exam
- 3 Coaching sessions
This is a learner-driven course so you are expected to meet up with your classmates outside of the live sessions to complete additional tasks!

- Tyler ScharfESL Teacher, CELTA trainer, ACC CoachTyler Scharf is a teacher, trainer & motivational coach based in Istanbul. Born in Canada, he has 10 years of experience in the field of ELT. Throughout the years he had the chance to work in Russia, India and Turkey, where he got his full Delta and was working as a Celta & ICELT tutor, and with Oxford University Press. He is the founder and owner of Sharp English.
He is also a certified coach from Erickson International. He specialises in empowering teachers and learners to gain a clearer sense of self and develop confidence in their practice and learning.
In this course Tyler is delivering writing and coaching sessions as well as all the content in video lessons. - Katy MuenchESL Teacher, CELTA TrainerKaty is a British teacher trainer, materials developer, and exam specialist with over a decade of experience in various schools and universities, including Istanbul Technical University, Sheffield University, and University of East London. Currently she is based in the UK, Sheffield.
She has also trained hundreds of teachers for Cambridge Celta, Oxford University Press, and Express Publishing. Katy has extensive experience in exam preparation and assessment, and she is known to have the most creative solutions for lesson planning and material design.
She has Delta M1, 2 and a BA in Journalism with honours.
In this course Katy is delivering Speaking/Listening sessions. - Siobhan KizilkayaESL Teacher, Delta TrainerSiobhan Kizilkaya is a teacher, trainer, and former assessor for Cambridge. She is originally from the UK but is now based in Istanbul.
With decades of experience in the field of ELT, she has extensive expertise in training and assessment due to her roles as a teacher trainer for Cambridge Delta and ICELT courses, IELTS examiner.
In this course Siobhan is delivering Speaking/Listening sessions. - Maria PovaliaevaESL TeacherMaria is an ESL teacher and a lexical wizard whose passion for the language stretches back long before she started teaching in 2008. She has taught everything from general and business English to preparation for Cambridge and IELTS exams.
She graduated from a pedagogical university, obtained Pass A CAE in 2015, Pass A Celta in 2018, and a Pass A in CPE in 2020. She is based in Saint Petersburg.
In this course Maria is delivering vocabulary sessions.
